before, after, oven, clean, scrape, wipe

Clean That Oven!

Some of us love baking.  With baking comes spills and other oven atrocities.  The best way to prevent a gross oven is by cleaning it after each use.  Just like most things in life, if you deal with it sooner rather than later, then it will be easier to deal with.  If you keep postponing and hoping that it will self-clean, then you may have to call in for some reinforcement.

We use three products that can have your oven looking brand new….

  1.  Oven Cleaner in a spray can.  Yes, these cleaners can be quite strong and should only be used when all else has failed.  (Which is usually when we get called in).
  2.  A razor blade
  3.  Gloves

Spray oven, shut door, and walk away for 2 hours. Let the chemical do its thing.  Due to the fumes, we recommend opening windows and getting some air flow while cleaning.  Once you are ready to tackle the oven, you should wear gloves and grab some rags.  Everything should come off fairly easily.  You may have to scrub a bit, but elbow grease is minimal if you waited the suggested two hours.  There are times that you won’t be able to just wipe or scrub away the burnt on food.  That’s when the razor blade comes in handy.  Just scrape and wipe the residue.  Keep wiping with a wet clean rag until your oven sparkles.

The following oven took a little longer to clean than most, but you would never guess that it is the same oven!  Don’t throw away that gross oven, call us and see if all you need is a professional cleaning job.

Before Oven

BEFORE… Yup! We can even clean that.

After Oven
